Privacy policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data SparkieHelp ("we", "us") collects through sparkiehelp.uk, why, and what your rights are under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Who we are
SparkieHelp is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us about anything in this policy at john@sparkiehelp.uk.
What we collect
- When you visit the site: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes basic technical data (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the website.
- Visitor statistics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other websites.
- When you email us: your email address and whatever you choose to tell us, so we can reply.
We don't load fonts, adverts or trackers from other companies. Links to other websites (such as the sources in our articles) are covered by those websites' own policies.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To run and protect the website and understand which pages are useful (legitimate interests).
- To reply to you when you contact us (legitimate interests).
We will never sell your data.
Who we share it with
Cloudflare hosts and protects the website and provides our visitor statistics. Cloudflare may process data in the United States; where data leaves the UK, it's protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.
How long we keep it
Visitor statistics are kept in summary form only. Emails are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your message.
Cookies
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and receive a copy of it. To use any of these rights, email john@sparkiehelp.uk. We'll reply within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please contact us first and we'll do our best to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
